How are you with meal planning? We’ve really struggled with it. We like being adult and going out to eat and experiencing different tastes and experiences. Since moving to the suburbs there’s not as many places to go out and we’re just trying to save more money and be a little more healthy. Because you have no control of what they put into your food.
Well, it be an understatement to say we miss dining out. I don’t mind cleaning the house but I absolutely hate washing dishes. And let’s be honest, if I don’t do it, the hubby doesn’t always take initiative. After all, can you blame him for all the cooking and cleaning he does for his job!
I feel like I’m getting off subject a little here, so a big fat ANYWAY….
We’re starting to get into a groove. Meal planning isn’t a chore anymore. We came up with about 15 meals and rotate those. And let’s be honest, we usually do the same meals anyway. This week we did an easy spaghetti. If you’re a busy mom, this is a perfect meal. When you’re pressed for time, just buy a jar at the store. Be sure to look at the ingredients to make sure there’s no other crazy stuff in there.
Of course, it needed a side. I’m a bread girl to the core. If I had to pick one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be bread. So, naturally, I was craving garlic bread. If you’re gluten intolerant, you can totally indulge with a gluten-free variety. Enjoy!
- Bread of choice (gluten-free, or whole grain)
- Extra virgin olive oil
- garlic clove
Go ahead and drizzle your bread with olive oil. Put it in the oven and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown. Remove from the oven and rub the top of the bread with a clove of garlic. Sprinkle salt on top and voila. Now you have the best tasting garlic bread ever.
